Registration with ALS is to help us meet any needs for support in the university environment. For certain courses, you will need to complete separate assessments regarding the impact of health conditions, disabilities or support needs:

  • Health and social work courses have a mandatory occupational health assessment to determine that you are mentally and physically able to undertake the programme.
  • If a course includes compulsory elements which involve working in an environment such as a laboratory or workshop or require you to undertake field trips in less accessible environment, you must complete a health and safety risk assessment for your safety and that of others.

You will be given separate information if one of these requirements applies to you.
